For all the following ressources the login/password authentication are the ones you obtained in a sealed enveloppe you received with your access badge. Those ressources won't be available to you unless you explicitely required to have access to the computer ressources in the registration form (refer to Step 1/ of Practical information).
In order to avoid wasting time because of uncorrect authentication you can test your CRI login/passwd.
In case of trouble with the computer ressources you should contact either Serge Torres or Dominique Ponsard who are officialy in charge of maintanance: their shared phone number is 86 48 from within IXXI (or 4 72 72 86 48 from outside of ENS campus).
Wifi access
Note: you either need a permanent access or a temporary WIFI account that must be created by a so called WIFI sponsor
Once you have your account:
- connect yourself to the Wifi network labelled "ENS"
- launch a web browser and request any (non local) URL (technically this provides a temporary IP number which is not routable),
- you should obtain a page named "Blue Socket": in the upper left corner provide the login and password of your ENS account. Then click on the "Go" button (technically, this should automatically switch your IP number to a new routable one),
- when your web browser displays the URL you requested then your are hooked to the internet...
Printing
All you need to know about configuring the printers is stated here but alas in french...
The name of the printer queue you should be using is isc-guest-printer (ISC is the old name of IXXI) in substitution of "isc-mono-1".
